HAMBURG, Germany, June 24, 2022/PRNewswire/ — Clean Logistics SE (ISIN DE000A1YDAZ7) presented fyuriantits first hydrogen-powered zero-emission truck to the public at the Stade airfield in lower saxony.
Production model runs on dual fuel cell systems PRISM of 120kW designed and manufactured by Shanghai REFIRE Technology Ltd. (REFIRE) serving to provide class-leading performance for all driving conditions.
fyuriant represents a milestone for the two companies that today usher in a new era of environmentally friendly road freight transport.
The launch of the hydrogen fuel cell powered truck follows Clean Logistics’ summer 2021 introduction of Europe’s first modernized bus, known as pyuronalso powered by REFIRE’s PRISMA fuel cell system.
Clean Logistics and REFIRE have together shown that replacing traditional diesel powertrains in existing vehicles with fuel cell systems and electric motors is a viable fast track to decarbonizing commercial transportation from mass transit to heavy-duty trucks.
Although truck original equipment manufacturers typically take several years to design and produce a new model, the fyuriant it represents an immediate and clean alternative to diesel – something that Germany and the European Union hope to accelerate.
The new Clean Logistics truck incorporates a lot of technological innovation. Integrated onboard fuel tanks can carry up to 43kg of compressed hydrogen, giving it a range of more than 400km and a refueling time of less than 15 minutes. The electricity generated by the PRISMA fuel cell systems is delivered to electric hub motors that provide a maximum torque of 17,000 Nm.
The impressive power and acceleration were displayed for the first time in the world when the new truck competed in a series of 6 endurance races against a diesel truck with an identical chassis. fyuriant It easily reached the finish line on the Stade Aerodrome track first in every race, even when fully loaded with a typical cargo box attached.
Although REFIRE already has the production capacity to supply tens of thousands of PRISMA systems per year, Clean Logistics is currently preparing to meet the growing demand with a new 10,000+ square meter production workshop at its facilities. Winsen (Luhe). The company expects to deliver up to 450 vehicles per year starting in the fourth quarter of 2023..
At the event, Dirk Graszt, CEO of Clean Logistics, explained: “We are very excited to present today our fyuriant. Our buses and trucks have received a great response in the industry. This is because we can now make zero-emission vehicles available for the market. REFIRE is an important partner of Clean Logistics, and as a key component of our products, their highly innovative and efficient PRISMA fuel cell system has enabled us to succeed.”
Audrey MaVice President of Business Development at REFIRE, commented: “It is a privilege to see fyuriant make its debut today and illustrate to the world how competitive it is in driving performance. We are sincerely grateful to have been selected as CleanLogistics’ product of choice and partner of choice, and look forward to continuing to enable its success in the European zero-emission commercial vehicle markets.”.
“Our PRISMA system has been battle-tested and is one of the most reliable and durable fuel cell systems on the planet. We are pleased to be able to share our knowledge and experience in support of Germany’s efforts to achieve 30% of zero emissions in road transport by 2030. We are ready to listen and understand the unique requirements of our EU customers.”
The project has received funding from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport as part of the implementation of the German government’s Mobility and Fuel Strategy (MFS). Totaling around 3.3 million euros, the funding measure has been coordinated by NOW GmbH.
REFIRE, founded in 2014, is an international clean mobility and energy technology company specializing in R&D, design, prototyping, testing, application engineering and manufacturing of fuel cell systems. The company has implemented systems that power more than 3,000 commercial FCEVs (fuel cell electric vehicles) around the world. The accumulated mileage until the fourth quarter of 2022 exceeds 115 million kilometers and represents a saving on the sidewalk of around 65,000 tons of atmospheric carbon emissions.
